3 Tips for Staying Healthy this Winter

It’s almost December, and for mostly everyone, it means yummy holiday food, traveling, and colder weather (unless you live in Florida…hehe)!  For those of you that know me, I am the ultimate germ-a-phob.  I have rounded up for you my 3 tips I swear by to stay healthy during the winter, and really, any time!

Drink LOTS of water.  This may be a no brainer, but it’s true.  Water is the only thing that will flush germs out of your system.  It will help clear up your skin, speed up your metabolism, ward off against sickness, give you energy, need I say more?  If you need to, fill up a jug of water in the morning and make it your goal to finish that before you go to bed.  Or, set an alarm on your phone to drink 1 glass of water every 1-2 hours.  My absolute favorite water is the Alkalife 10 Spring Water.  I am not kidding you, this is the most delicious water I have ever tasted.  I used to treat myself with Fiji water, but now this is my go-to.  Alkalife 10 is sourced from underwater caves below the earth, and it is infused with minerals to make it have a pH level of 10.  The water tastes so fresh and it also is extremely smooth.  I go through a bottle so easily because it goes down so smoothly, and I also like it first thing in the morning because it fills me up with electrolytes to make me feel extra hydrated!

Take your vitamins!  My 5 vitamins I swear by when I am coming down with something are:

  1. Lipo-Spheric Vitamin C Packets
  2. Black Elderberry
  3. Garlic Pills
  4. Airborne
  5. Wellness Formula

Keep your feet warm!  The easiest way to lose heat is through your head and your feet, and it is so easy to forget to put socks on when you’re walking around the house in your sandals, or when you just want to slip your boots on to go outside.  Keep your feet warm at home with some cute socks!

I hope these tips help you stay healthy during this holiday season! Much love to all!

The Perfect Wrap Dress

I love the holidays!  They come with travel, planning, decorations, food, stress (lol am I right?!), and lots of self reflection!  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday in Naples with my mom and dad and two sisters that flew in for Thanksgiving (I’m the middle child- shout out to all my middle children out there!), and then we spent some time with Chase’s dad in Fort Myers.  I love eating all of our family traditions (I am Middle Eastern and Italian, so we have a LOT of traditional food to eat!) and celebrating our traditions.

For Thanksgiving day, I wore this gorgeous dress from Scatto Clothing, my new favorite  boutique based out of California!  I lived in California for almost 10 years, so I love fashion and the chic yet laid back style that California boutiques bring to me.  The dress can be found here and can be worn with heels, sandals, or booties.  It fits true to size too, which I love!  Their customer service is so easy to use, and they answer questions based on your body type/sizes so quickly!  Use code Jennifer10 for a 10% discount on your entire order!

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week! Chase and I have a couple of events to attend and then this weekend we are headed up to Chicago to go to the Chicago Emmy’s!

Fit Foodz Cafe Boca Raton

I think I may have just found the best little gem in the heart of Boca Raton- Fit Foodz Cafe.  It is nestled in a shopping center in Boca, but it sure is a standuot.

This place has ridiculously tasty healthy food, AND they offer meal plans that you can pick up for the week.  If my breakfast, lunch, and dinner, can be filled with the food I tasted when I visited, I would be the happiest girl alive!

Below are some of my favorite things I had the opportunity to try!

Okay my avocado lovers, this one is for you.  They have something on the menu called “Avocado Bowls”, in which you get 2 halved avocados filled with feta cheese, salsa, and reduced balsamic vinegar- which is basically what I would imagine Heaven consists of.  Need I say more?  This picture does not do it justice.  This even tasted amazing as leftovers!

Then, if that wasn’t enough, they actually make Zucchini Cheese Bites, which essentially is the healthiest version of tater tots, but tastes better than tater tots. Yep, I really did say that.  I don’t quite understand it, but I tasted it, and guys, it’s real.

Their energy bowls will probably be my new go-to lunch or dinner meal. So balanced and extremely delicious. And extremely delicious.  And extremely delicious.  Got the picture?

They also have zoodles….ZOODLES.  I dare you to name a restaurant that has that on the menu.  Good luck.

There are so many items on the menu I am dying to try, but you cannot forget the dessert, EVER.  My favorite dessert I sampled was the vegan and gluten free confetti cookie pies with vegan icing.  Basically, you can have everything you see in this picture, and you will still be healthy and be eating zero calories.  Am I right?  Speaking of calories, the calorie count is written on every item in the menu, now that is my kind of restaurant!

So, get your healthy butt to Fit Foodz Cafe, and try it for yourself!
